With the mounting financial pressure impacting live music, Live Event Logistics is thrilled to be able to work with the Association of Artist Managers to launch the Live Event Freight Grant with a combined value of $3,500 awarded!
“As an industry, we were the first to come down and we’ll likely be the last to be operating at full capacity, so it’s been an extremely challenging time for all parts of our industry. Undeniably, Managers have been at the centre of it all, navigating plans for their artists, rescheduling multiple shows with agents & promoters whilst adapting & trying to make thing work financially.”
GREG CAREY – CHAIR, ASSOCIATION OF ARTIST MANAGERS
Initially valued at $1,500 to be utilised towards touring freight services, the grant aims to provide some level of support for a manager to overcome some of the financial hurdles to getting on the road as well as provide general support for managers trying to plan and navigate how and when to get back out there.
“If we can alleviate some of the financial stress and provide support in navigating some of the logistical complexities of getting on the road, that is a solution we are excited to provide.”
CHRIS WOODS – DIRECTOR, LIVE EVENT LOGISTICS
We are excited to announce that Murray Curnow, Director of hat management, has been awarded the AAM Live Event Freight Grant valued at $1500, to assist in touring freight costs for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.
Murray Curnow said “After a tough 18 months, this support is greeted with a huge welcome. Our international plans for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets took a nosedive quite early on and the effect has been felt, especially with a new record release & an inability to support that release by performing in those overseas markets. This funding from Live Event Logistics will go so
me way to getting us back on our feet & helping with the new landscape & challenges we all face on a financial level.”
On review of the written submissions an additional $2,000 worth of credit was also distributed to artist managers Lauren Mikkor (Running Touch), Louise Sawilejskij (Tijuana Cartel), Mark Neal (Noah Dillon) and Sian Walden (Wanderers).
“This funding from Live Event Logistics will go some way to getting us back on our feet & helping with the new landscape & challenges we all face on a financial level.”
MURRAY CURNOW – DIRECTOR, HAT
Live Event Logistics Director, Chris Woods said “Awarding the grant to one manager was hard because we know everyone is trying to get a leg up in a difficult environment. The whole foundation of our business is about providing industry specific service and logistical solutions to get live performance on the road, and working with awesome people who are making it happen.”
“There is no one solution or quick fix for the challenges the industry is currently facing. If we can alleviate some of the financial stress and provide support in navigating some of the logistical complexities of getting on the road, that is a solution we are excited to provide.”
Greg Carey, AAM Chair said “As an industry, we were the first to come down and we’ll likely be the last to be operating at full capacity, so it’s been an extremely challenging time for all parts of our industry. Undeniably, Managers have been at the centre of it all, navigating plans for their artists, rescheduling multiple shows with agents & promoters whilst adapting & trying to make thing work financially. We’ve been offering advice and information to our Members and it’s been great to see the management community work together in these tough times.
Additionally it was fantastic to have a company like Live Event Logistics seek to partner with the AAM to offer financial grants to managers to assist with live touring, which by default helps the Artist and Managers bottom line & help crawl back some income they’ve lost due to cancelled shows. It’s great to see industry come together to help get the sector back on track and we really appreciate the support from Live Event Logistics.”
